What Indigenous-Owned Means at BPM

CCIB Certified Indigenous Business · Founded by Corey Goss of Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation · Natural deodorant made in Canada

Indigenous-owned isn’t a marketing angle at BPM. It describes who owns the business, who makes the decisions and who is accountable for what we put into the world.

Naturels Bold Egg Naturals Inc., owner of the BPM brand is a CCIB Certified Indigenous Business, founded by Corey Goss, a member of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation. That certification means our Indigenous ownership and control have been independently verified. It isn’t a self-appointed label or a box checked on a form.

Before starting BPM, Corey spent years in technology and product development learning how to understand a problem, question the usual way of doing things, set requirements and build something better. Eventually, he turned that same attention to something much closer to the skin: deodorant.

The result is BPM, a high-performance natural deodorant made in Canada, packaged in recyclable metal and priced fairly and transparently.

My Indigenous identity isn’t pasted onto the brand. It is part of the person behind it—and part of how I approach the business: carefully, resourcefully and with respect for what we use, what we waste and what we leave behind.

The Story Behind Our Mark

Corey's family’s original last name is Kohoko, meaning owl. The owl at the centre of our Indigenous-Owned mark represents that connection to family and identity.

BPM Indigenous-Owned mark featuring an owl and drum-inspired design

The surrounding design draws inspiration from the lacing on the back of an Indigenous hand drum, bringing another kind of rhythm into a brand already shaped by music. Together, the owl and drum-inspired design connect family, heritage and BPM’s musical roots.

The meaning is personal to our story. It is not intended to represent every Indigenous Nation, community or tradition.

The Product Still Has to Earn Its Place

Buying Indigenous-owned can help keep ownership, opportunity and decision-making in Indigenous hands. But we don’t expect anyone to choose BPM out of obligation.

BPM has to earn its place on your shelf the same way any other deodorant does: by working well and offering the right value for the price point.

We have also committed 5% of net profits to great causes, including those in the Indigenous community. As BPM grows, we intend to build direct relationships with First Nations communities, and to be transparent about where that support goes.
